Wood Turning and other wood matters

Life as a woodturner can be fun and hard work. I always say that wood turners don't make mistakes they have design opportunities. Well sometimes. This blog will perhaps give some insight to the ups and downs. It will be fed by both me (Pete) and my partner & wife Mo who collaborates and acts as quality control. Hope you find it interesting and perhaps a little amusing

Last Commission.

This was commissioned by one of the stall holders at the show at Blenheim Palace. The lady wanted a goblet or chalice that would be suitable for her husband and could hold 1/2 litre of beer. Needed to be classic, masculine and easy to hold. (don't ask why LOL) It is in walnut and lacquered to hold cool liquids as are all my goblets. Just waiting her approval before posting in time for Christmas.

Bitterly cold out but have the heater on in the workshop so off to try and make a piece for the club competition. Subject is 'open and shut'....need to think of something more than a simple box.
