Created from several different turnings, this piece represents the tranquility of an oriental water feature as found in many gardens. The water is represented by polished pebbles and the hand created reeds give an extra dimension.
The base pool is created from a piece of a very old oak beam. It has been cleaned and stained on the outside but much of the original character due to wear and age has been left in place. Inside the pool has been turned and filled with polished pebbles. the upper bowl is hazel and the tipping jug is created from an unknown wood, both sourced by the maker from his local woods. The reeds are made of bamboo lengths with various different woods turned for the heads.
