Spalted Sycamore Bowl

Lovely little bowl made from spalted sycamore. Spalting for those that don't know is where a wood gets infected with a mould or fungus that then will leave varying marks through the wood.The trick is to catch it before it goes too far. The rsult is the amazing natural colouring and marjkigs as een here. This bowl is 7" (180mm) diameter and stands4" ( 102mm) tall.  It has been fiished with a hard carnauba) wax polish to make it easy to maintain. Eminently practical as well as decorative.
