Yew Sculpture

This is a lovely piece created from a slice of green yew and allowed to move.  It measures 11" (280mm) diameter and stands 17" (430mm) tall on its base which is 15" (380mm) long. The natural fissures that occur have been filled with brass and it has been deliberately mounted to give them a diagonal aspect. The sculpture has been turned off centre giving it a very individual look. The base is a heavy piece of oak burr that has been sanded and polished leaving some of the natural edges. Overall a truly one of a kind, natural sculpture that would enhance any decor, modern or traditional. Finished with a hard wax (carnauba) polish for easy maintenance.
