Sorry for the delay in thanking you for an excellent evening at Herefordshire Woodturners the week before last, and hope you got back home OK.
There has been a lot of great feedback from members, and we really appreciated the way in which you pitched the content to accommodate both newish turners, and those with more experience.
Many thanks, and looking forward to seeing you again somewhere on the circuit,
Thank you so much for yesterday
Jochem really enjoyed the experience and loves what he made
Just a few lines to say thank you for a great Demo on Thursday evening everyone I have spoken to said how much they enjoyed your demo ( we had 52 present) members were saying they picked up quite a few tips
Wight Woodturners were pleased to welcome Pete and Mo Moncrieff-Jury to demonstrate their crafts at the Spring Professional Demonstration for 2016. Together Pete and Mo run small a business called Bodrighy Wood from their home in Wiltshire selling craft-ware which includes goblets, crafting tools and artistic items. Pete will also work on commission and offer turning tuition. Mo has previously traded as Wood’n’Gems but now helps Pete decorate and present their work.
Throughout the day Pete and Mo let us into many “secrets” of their craft and demonstrated many interesting techniques. From our day, I guess members took away much food for thought in their approach to their future projects. A few pictures below show some of the highlights from the day

The demo was great; a number of the members commented on the way you demonstrated that hollow forms could be achieved using standard tools that most have in their workshops and the use of less than perfect blanks. We are a club which has a number of 'beginners' and less experienced turners so being shown that there is no need to rush out and buy the specialists tools to achieve good quality hollow forms was wonderful. And the whole thing fitted in with our March competition theme. We are now expecting more than the usual number of entries, especially in the beginners category.
Just got back from our Woodturning club where Pete did an evening demo for us and As you know I don't Bullshit. It was an exceptionally good demo everybody enjoyed it and if you want a good demonstrator for your club book Pete
I have had a written report of the evening and have spoken to several members who tell me that they thoroughly enjoyed the evening, your manner of presentation and its content, full marks all round. One of our members has already made and tested a spanner tool which you mentioned. I was sorry to have missed the evening.Thank you for coming to visit us and we will be happy to keep you on our list of demonstrators for future occasions.
I am a church pastor and use your goblets in wedding ceremonies. Your workmanship is superb and the couples receive them with gratitude

Table Centers and custom rustic T lights
Thank you again for supplying us with all the wonderful decorations for our big day! We've finally just about recovered from Friday now which was an absolutely amazing day from start to finish! In particular everyone was really impressed with the centerpieces with how unique they were and how they perfectly complimented the venue.

Mortar & Pestle
i bought a mortar and pestle.....beautifully made.
i asked you if it could withstand crushing pills and being washed over and over and over again.
my mother had dementia and couldn't manage swallowing her pills whole.
she recently died and your handiwork held up without fault.
it was invaluable in assisting me to take care of her.
each and every day...several times a day....for over 2 years..... it worked beautifully without fail.
i wanted to make sure you know that because of you.......my job as caregiver was a little bit easier.

Pagette (The Silver Octopus)
Mortar & Pestle
Beautiful! I absolutely love it!! I was afraid it might be too big, but its perfect. The workmanship is excellent, and I know I will treasure it for many years to come. Thank you so very much!
They are beautiful! I can't believe you got them here for Christmas. Thank you soooo much!
My mom loved this - thank you very much.
Even better than the photo, really nice heavy vase. Arrived quickly & packed well - thank you!
gorgeous item that was really well packaged, had some issues with post (not the sellers fault - blame the snow) but seller was great and made sure we got a wand in plenty of time for christmas. My daughter is going to love it.
Bowls for pyrographer
Pete, got them this morning. I am so delighted with them. They are beautiful. Almost seems a shame now to burn on them!!...............Thank you again. These bowls are amazing.
I first came across Bodrighy Wood on line, and was impressed by his range of products and purchased three large Christmas Icicles which were made to order. These arrived promptly and I was delighted with them and have continued to buy items both for myself and as gifts since. Pete's work is of excellent quality, beautifully designed and his love of his main medium, wood, shines through. I now own several pieces from Bodrighy Wood from the original Christmas Decorations to a larger Wood Sculpture from his recent Japanese influenced range and will undoubtedly acquire more in the future.
I love the originality of his work and his eye for detail. He doesn't just produce bowl after bowl and platter after platter as do many turners, each piece is different, designed around the material and letting the piece of timber speak for itself when appropriate, a prime example being his rustic naturalistic work. In his latest range of Japanese influenced items the shape and design is all. Many pieces accessorised with other mediums to enhance the wood or create a composition or Art Piece."
I have been fortunate enough to commission several individual works by Pete both large and small and can say his talent and craftsmanship are exemplary. Not only does Pete possess the skill and ability to produce high quality wooden artefacts but also his creations turn an everyday item, such as, a pestle and mortar into a work of art.
Pete has the patience that comes with such dedication and talent. This is passed on to his attention to detail and can be seen through his work and customer care from exquisite pieces of art to something as commonplace as a wooden button. Once, I asked for such an everyday item, wooden buttons. Pete’s expertise considered my intended use for them, which was on a babies item, which influenced his choice of wood he created them from and the need for safety. This is the mark of a genuine craftsman, taking as much care and consideration for a minor item as a major work of art."
The first thing Pete made for me was a seam ripper. Anyone who has used a shop-bought one will know how horrid they are to hold, as the handle is so skinny. Pete's seam rippers have nice chunky handles which are long enough to get a comfortable grip on, making the onorous task of unpicking seams far more pleasant.
Recently, I commissioned a pair of wedding flutes from him for my daughter's wedding. To say these are absolutely beautiful simply does not do them justice. Turned from a single block of wood, each flute has 2 wooden rings around the "stem". I had them brought out with champagne ready in them for the toasts, and both my daughter and my new son in law were overwhelmed with them.
I simply cannot praise Pete's workmanship highly enough. He liaised with me all the way with the wedding flutes, from the first rough-cut right through having them inscribed, to the final polishing. Highly professional yet totally approachable." 1
I have several things from Bodrighy Wood, which I discovered online, and am thrilled with all of them. My order was filled promptly and arrived in perfect condition, all the way to Texas!
The bowl with pyrography around the rim is beautiful and just calls out to be touched. I use it to display potpourri, and it looks lovely together. The natural wood and the botanicals are a perfect match.
I also have some of Pete's Christmas items - some wooden icicles with bows and hooks at the top (they have pride of place on my tree, which is focused as much as possible on natural -look decorations). I also have a several of his snowmen, which are adorable in addition to being beautifully turned and finished. They go on the piano along with a few other treasures each holiday season, and always get a lot of attention and compliments."
I have known Pete now for several years and have followed his progress online through various web pages and forums. Pete's work is excellent and and the research, planning and time he puts into his work is second to none . I know of no other woodturner who offers such a varied amount of hand turned crafting tools from spinning wool, buttons for sewing and lace bobbins to name a few. He also specalises in wedding goblets and well goblets in general. However this is not all he does, he collaborates and makes components for jewellery and makes one off sculptural pieces also. I would highly recommend Pete if you are looking for that something different and unique. He is helpful and will work closely with you to get you just what you want.
I have be coveting Pete’s work for a long time now, in fact if I won the lottery I would buy his entire range of goblets, bowls, plates, vases and candlesticks because he hasn’t turned one yet that I didn’t love. A true traditional Master Craftsman he has a wonderful ability to bring out the very heart of a piece of wood no matter what shape it is turned to. I would be hard pressed to pick favourites but if I had to I would say:

Pete's work is truly innovative. Professional and passionate about his work, we would highly recommend him."
Pete is a true craftsman. I have been extremely pleased with the items he has crafted for me. He can always turn my vague idea into some beautiful in wood!"
Inspired - and inspiring, Pete has some great ideas which he is able to translate into the most beautiful and desirable objets d'art."
The goblet has arrived and is bloody awseome. Thanks again.
