TUITION

I can provide tuition in either my own workshop or in yours. I am fully insured and qualified to teach so you are in good hands. If you wish to enquire about either please email me or use the form at the bottom of the page. Please check my calender of events for availability.

Cost etc are as follows:-

In my workshop:-

My main lathe is a woodfast and I also use an Axminster Trade AT1416VS. My workshop has overhead air filtration as well as a localised chip extractor and a mask and face protection is provided.

If it is your first time on a lathe you will learn the health and safety aspects, the basics of spindle turning and, if you prove to be ‘a natural’ there may be a chance to do a small bowl as well.

I specialise in turning predominantly spindle work and use green and recycled wood but am happy to teach other disciplines if required. If you have a particular area of turning you would like tuition in please contact me. If I am not able to help I will endeavour to point you to another registered turner who can.

I only do one to one supervision but the workshop is big enough for two people so you could share the experience and the fee, taking turns, one turning whilst one watches.
